New single & album for spring/summer 2023

It’s been a while, but then it’s been a busy time at Booth HQ. So, no more chit chat… here is THE NEWS…

On the 17th March I’m releasing a new version of my song Run. Long-time followers will have heard this live, or on 2015 EP ‘The Good Years”. It’s still available on the XI:XV compilation, but I’ve reworked it for my forthcoming album (more about that in a moment). It’s a song that has remained popular both with audiences and with my own super-self-critical mind, but since I first released it, it has mellowed out a little, perhaps reflecting how I now feel with some distance between 2023 and the song’s creation back in 2013/14ish. So I’ve given it another chance to shine.

This 2023 version of Run features Texas founding member Ally Mcerlaine (electric guitars) who I met at the Knoydart Songwriting Retreat, Northumberland folk multi-instrumentalist and producer Ian Stephenson (double bass), and my incredibly talented singing & songwriting partner in life and music Kelly Bayfield (voice/piano). It was recorded in Suffolk, Northumberland and London. I then mixed it and sent it off to mastering genius Joe Vegna in Sweden. The new swift artwork is by my good friend Lucy Hart.

And then… there’s the album…

Slated for release on 23rd June, I owe huge thanks to all the Crowdfunder supporters and to Help Musicians for their grant which will enable me to run a professional PR campaign for the album’s release.

More info about the album coming soon.
